Packaging

Sheeting is one of the most common and straightforward paper conversion processes. A sheeter takes one or more rolls of paper and cuts it into sheets which match predefined specifications.

Sheeters are often integrated into other processes such as printing, allowing rolls to be cut into sheets just prior to use. This is usually more cost-effective than buying sheet paper, and avoids the downtime of having to load paper sheets. Typically the sheeter speed will be synchronized with the rest of the process.

Many sheeters can handle multiple paper rolls at the same time. There is a risk of the paper wrinkling as it is drawn into the sheeter, so automated monitoring provides a useful real-time solution that is far superior to manual inspection.
